Assist Pregnancy Center Baby Bottle Boomerang – Return Bottles TODAY: If you took a baby bottle to fill with change for Assist, please bring it with you to church today to return to Mike or Laura Icardi (if you have returned it before now and returned it to Jackie, please email Laura at email@example.com so she can cross you off the list). You are also welcome to drop it off at the welcome table if you can’t find the Icardis. The clipboard sign-out sheets will be there; please cross your name out to indicate that you returned your bottle. If you won’t be at church please email Laura to arrange a pickup during the week.
Thank you for participating in this fundraiser for Assist Pregnancy Center! Laura will update you all once we know the total funds raised through this campaign so you can see the impact you’ve had!
Update on Giving: As the leadership of Redeemer has talked of giving, one piece that has been stressed is the importance of regular, recurring giving. This allows the church to budget more effectively and plan for the future. Thanks to God’s blessing through your faithfulness, Redeemer has almost 80 singles/families that are signed up to give regularly for $34,600 each month. When we switched sites for giving in the fall, we had about 40 people and $22,000 committed each month. We have almost doubled the number of faithful givers, and grown the total by over 50%! This is an amazing answer to prayer and wonderful picture of God’s provision. We would love to have $45,000 committed each month to continue to grow in our pursuit of where God has called Redeemer. We encourage the members of Redeemer to prayerfully and thoughtfully consider how God would have them steward their resources cheerfully and sacrificially! For those interested in giving, you can click here.

What Moses Lee is writing. Redeemer member, Moses Lee’s book review of Christianity, Social Justice, and the Japanese American Incarceration during World War II was published on Reformed African American Network (hattip, Scott Moshier) which you can read here.
Moses Lee had a busy month of writing, including sending this note:
“Dear Redeemer Family,
Once again we find ourselves speechless by YOUR generosity! As Redeemer’s campus ministry, we have already been floored by your affirmation, service, and prayers. More specifically, we want to thank you for your recent mind-blowing gift from the “Strategic Opportunity Fund.” Thank you for making Kingdom work possible at American University!
Last month, we hosted a “Faith x Work” discussion panel. Three members of Redeemer (Andre Aganbi, Kevin Dowker, and Meghan Spigle) participated as panelists to discuss how to be faithful missionaries in the workplace. The feedback was so good we decided to have one every month.”
— Flute Recital & Adoption Fundraiser, March 25: Redeemer members, Steve and Becky Mason are holding a fundraising event for their adoption and you are invited! Sat, 3/25, at 3:30pm at Convergence in Alexandria (1801 N. Quaker Ln, just off 395). The talents of Redeemer’s own Dan Shen (piano), Kelli Pierson (voice), Haylee Green (dance), and Elisabeth Henderson Haas (flute) will join Becky Mason on flute in a recital with music inspired by the Mason family’s journey to adopt from South Africa. A reception featuring South African wines and refreshments will follow.
There is an optional “suggested donation” of $12 to go toward their adoption fees; however, all are welcome to enjoy the musical program with no obligation to contribute.
— Women’s Art Exhibit, April 1: The Redeemer Women’s Committee invites you to a night of art and reflection on Saturday, April 1st. Join us for desserts, coffee, fellowship, and a special art gallery at 7:00pm featuring works by female members of our church. Our hope is to look back on our corporate study of Genesis and the idea of “Beginnings” in our faith through art and conversation. The gallery will feature pieces that interpret the idea of “Beginnings.” Through a casual program we will engage, individually and collectively, with the idea of our beginnings and God’s role in them.
A suggested $5 donation at the door is requested. All works will be available for purchase. April 1st- Riddick Hall- Redeemer Church of Arlington @ AUMC, 716 S. Glebe Road, Arlington, Virginia
— Walk|Run|Ride, April 22nd: Redeemer has been partnering with our local pregnancy center, Assist Pregnancy Center, for several years. Assist operates solely on donations from the community, and the annual Walk|Run|Ride is one of its two biggest fundraisers. You and your family/roommates/CG can form a team, or you can do it alone – by running or walking the 5K course along the W&OD trail, or biking the 12-mile course along the same trail. Sign up, and then ask friends and family to support you financially as you support Assist! Mike and I, and our kids, will be there, so let us know if you sign up! In order to track participants, please sign up at the link below, and choose “Laura Icardi” as your liaison, and “Redeemer” as your church. You can email me with any questions: firstname.lastname@example.org Link to sign up: Walk/Run/Ride for LIFE 2017 | Event Page
SERVANT SHOUTOUT, by Jackie Black: We are so excited for the spring retreat in SIX weeks! I wanted to do a preliminary shout out for Veronica Rogers who has stepped in to support me before and during the retreat with coordination. This is a MARVELOUS blessing as I anticipate speaking at the retreat. Veronica’s work has already released me to prepare and later participate in the retreat. Words fail for appreciation but know that behind the scenes we have a brilliant, gracious coordinator is keeping me sane (no small task before and during the retreat!). THANK YOU, Veronica!
