“For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence,
for my hope is from him.
He only is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall not be shaken.
On God rests my salvation and my glory;
my mighty rock, my refuge is God.
Trust in him at all times, O people;
pour out your heart before him;
God is a refuge for us.”
This Sunday we have the privilege of coming together to sing, study God’s word, and take communion.
The privilege lies in the invitation. This is not a place we should be.
Yet, through God’s mercy, he has invited you and I to participate in a family. He has brought us out of the courtroom of his justice into his family room. He calls us to be with him, exalt him, and be changed by him. He wants us to experience him in his glory and goodness. To be edified by his word and through other Spirit filled believers. What a place to be!
This Sunday we have the joy of welcoming eight new members to our church, and I have the privilege to preach from Luke 18:18-30, the story of the rich young ruler.
