Redeemer Weekly: October 22, 2017 — BAPTISM SUNDAY — PLAN for THE MARATHON! — SERVANT SHOUTOUT: Baptism Set-Up/Break Down

Good morning! Please join us this morning for service at 10:30 a.m. at 716 S Glebe. Donuts and fellowship at 10 a.m. We are excited to celebrate two baptisms today!

REMINDER: Today is the Marine Corp Marathon! Be aware and plan that there are road closures as you come to service today!

TODAY in Redeemer CM: It is Gospel Clue Connection Sunday! Jesus is alive today! For 40 days, Jesus presented Himself to at least 500 people and proved that He is alive. He sends out believers to tell others about Him and gives us power through the Holy Spirit.

Men’s Ministry reminder, Carlos, Todd, and Mike continue the men’s study in Riddick Hall at 9 am today!

Next Sunday, Jon Smith’s class of God’s Story continues at 9 am – meeting every 1st and 3rd Sundays (and 5th)!

SUNDAY, Nov. 5th: Newcomer Lunch: If new to Redeemer and wanting to meet, luncheon, and chat with Redeemer members and elders, join us immediately after service on Sunday, November 5th. RSVP:

Serving Need:

The Redeemer Communion Team is looking for a few more volunteers! If you’ve been looking for a low-key, behind-the-scenes way to serve the Redeemer community, this is your chance. You’ll have to show up to the church a bit earlier about twice a month, but you’ll also have first crack at the donuts and coffee, so there’s a lot of upside! If you’re interested, contact Eliezer Gonzalez at for more information.

Date Change: Member’s Meeting Sunday, DECEMBER 3rd: Please (re)mark your calendars for Sunday, December 3 for our member’s 2018 financial budget meeting and discussion!

Member Directory: End of the year updates to the directory are coming! MEMBERS please let Jackie of family changes (i.e. email, birthdays, anniversaries, pictures) know of changes by the end of October!

Address Change in 2017? If you changed your address in 2017, please fill out this short form.

SERVANT SHOUTOUT, by Jackie Black: Baptism Sundays are a favorite of mine… Primarily because of the baptisms! But in addition, they showcase some of the best serving servants we have at Redeemer! Jared Altman, Joel Borkert, and Tyler Robinson save ALL of my sanity by how they handle, plan, coordinate the baptism set-up. No. Really. Ask Tyler about my stress level then/now and he will tell you that having a committed, patient, gracious, serving crew for set up and take down (although feel free to jump in for that!) has be a huge blessing and reason I am still at Redeemer 😉 ← but I am not really joking.

THANK YOU, gents for ever and always serving Redeemer in a celebration of baptism – it is deeply appreciated by all!
