Upcoming Community Events
FlourishNow Job Fair: We are excited to be supporting FlourishNow (where Redeemer alums, Leah Hughey and Andrew Brown work) in putting on a job fair in May! Check out the FlourishNow website for mission and purpose BUT also check out volunteer opportunities about the May 24, 2018 Job Fair. Their mission is to help with local needs by connecting people to church and job resources. Interested or curious? Grab Gillian Springer, Jackie, or Jordan to learn more!
INVITING ALL RELATIONSHIPS: In response to Pastor Eric’s sermon series on marriage, Mark and I are inviting at least 5 couples for each relational stage (dating, engaged, married) to participate in a Redeemer Wide “Couple Check-up” for the month of May (powered by Prepare/Enrich, a well-respected clinical and faith based premarital and marital assessment tool). This is relevant and beneficial for any stage of a relationship, regardless of how great or not so great and everything in-between.
- Go to www.couplecheckup.com, and add Group Code: 20414 – 2018 at the end so your results can be anonymously added to the summary report we’ll share at the end of May for corporate edification and awareness (see a sample here)
- If $35 is a participation barrier, if you’d like to pay it forward and sponsor a couple, if you have questions, or if you’d like to loop in a team member, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
- We’re still forming the marriage mentor team, so if you’re an interested individual/couple (married or not) to explore this opportunity, contact email@example.com for more information about realistic qualifications, structured format, and flexible commitment (closing the 1st team Sunday, May 20 or capping when 10 commit).
SERVANT SHOUTOUT, by Jackie Black – This shoutout is actually to the majority of the Redeemer community! I want to extend deep, heartfelt appreciation to the Redeemer families – from parents to kiddos – and children ministry volunteers. I am not surprised but am continually humbled by your flexibility, patience, grace, and service in our new normal. In my call for all hands on deck, an overwhelming response came from so many – thank you!
Countless offers of help, faithfully reading all the emails I send, using grace and humor to encourage me and others – THANK YOU all for being a part of the Redeemer community who is rich with servants! You make my job a joy!
AND ESL! Lest we forget but ESL has also be displaced by the Redeemer spring 2018 flooding – after they were the ones to discover the water! The team has calmly, quietly worked with limitations and ensured that students’ studies have not been disrupted! Thanks, all who have continued to care for the broader community of students!
