Redeemer Weekly: June 3, 2018 — SUMMER updates and events — SERVANT SHOUTOUT: Maria Sifontes

Good morning! Please join us tomorrow morning at 10am for coffee and donuts at 716 S. Glebe Rd.

TOMORROW – Anniversary Picnic at Bon Air Park! Please join us for a pizza picnic lunch immediately after service as we celebrate our 8th anniversary of Redeemer! There is parking a’plenty! Bring games, lawn chairs, water, sunblock, etc. – all the necessities for a picnic. We are grateful to celebrate the Lord’s faithfulness to Redeemer. Psst – it is a “little” walk to the picnic shelter we have reserved! Also, if you are able to help with set-up/clean up, please let Emily know!

TOMORROW in Redeemer CM, as school winds down for our kids, they learn of God’s plan and Paul’s bravery. When others threatened his life, Paul obeyed Jesus. We can share the gospel with courage because God is with us.

TOMORROW, Men’s Group – see below for the update on the summer study plan! They will meet in Riddick Hall (promptly ending at 9:45 am to allow for CM set-up).

ADDITIONS to the Redeemer June calendar! There are two events in June which we are adding and want to make you aware:

Sunday, June 17 will be a Baptism Sunday! We are excited to celebrate baptisms and if you are interested in being baptized, you can contact Jordan:

Sunday, June 24 at 5 pm will be a member’s meeting! Prior to summer vacations, Redeemer leadership wants to provide important update and information for Redeemer (followed by a pizza dinner!) If able to help with event coordination, please let Jackie know!

Note from CG Deacons, Mark and Betsy Teubl: Community Groups are the bedrock of discipleship here at Redeemer! You can find information about the current CGs, including the co-leaders, neighborhood, gathering day + time, and status (open or full) here. We hope you’ll find this resource helpful as you plug into the missional family life of Redeemer.

Please don’t hesitate to contact if you have any questions and/or are interested in visiting a CG and we’ll get back to you within 48 hours!

Upcoming Redeemer Events

Redeemer Men’s Group: Redeemer men! The latest installment of men’s ministry will begin this Sunday, June 3rd at 8:45 am in Riddick Hall and will occur each Sunday for the next 10 weeks. The Redeemer Men’s ministry is passionate about becoming men who know one another better and wrestle well through the trials of our time. Every one of us is striving for wholeness in Christ, and we are sure that each of us knows friends, family, co-workers, and others who struggle in the pursuit for sexual integrity. Therefore, we will be working our way through a curriculum that provides both the spiritual and psychological implications for striving for purity. Come join as we support one another and wrestle through these difficult topics together. All men are highly encouraged and welcome to join, and we are excited to see what the Lord does through this time over the next 10 weeks!

DATE CHANGE: June Core Seminar will be Friday, June 22 & Saturday, June 23 – Our summer core seminar for those interested in Redeemer membership will be on Friday evening, June 22 and Saturday morning, June 23. You can register here!

SERVANT SHOUTOUT, by Jackie Black: Nomination by the ESL team! Maria Sifontes is a huge blessing to the ESL ministry! She helps with admin tasks such as translating and printing documents, and collecting feedback from students. She is also taking the  lead on coordinating the end of semester potluck, where we celebrate all of our students’ hard work. Beyond admin and coordinating, Maria is always offering up a lot of good ideas for our program and encouraging our group with scripture! She recently sent an email asking me what more she can do to serve-music to my ears! Thanks Maria for so passionately serving our ESL community!
