But the Lord sits enthroned forever;
he has established his throne for justice,
and he judges the world with righteousness;
he judges the peoples with uprightness.
The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed,
a stronghold in times of trouble.
And those who know your name put their trust in you,
for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.
This Sunday, we will take time to consider the sovereign rule of our God. To those who reject his kingship, his authority brings great fear and trembling. But to those who know him as Lord and Savior, his reign brings comfort, hope, and joy.
It is only through the grace and mercy of Jesus that we know him as our stronghold, and because of the certainty of his salvation, we can trust with bold confidence.
I’ll lead our times of singing and Eric will continue our series in the book of Proverbs.
You can listen to the songs we’ll be singing here.
