Redeemer Weekly: August 5, 2018 — Townhall Tomorrow: Constitutional Changes — Servant Shoutout: Thursday Night Pizza Party & Move Crew
Good morning! Please join us tomorrow morning at 10am for coffee and donuts at 716 S. Glebe Rd.
Tomorrow in Children’s Ministry (CM): Finally, we are fully moved back and resume our normal routine – 1 year olds are back in their space and nursing mamas have a nursing mom room again! Also, the kiddos are finally at the end of the three year cycle and study of the Bible. For August, Redeemer kiddos will be learning about the book of Revelation! Note: The lessons will be strictly related to the book of Revelation with no endtime views or interpretations.
CM Training Reminder: The 2018-2019 mandatory training will be held tomorrow at 9am. If you are serving in CM this upcoming service year, you can either attend any of the next four Sundays: tomorrow, August 12, August 19, and August 26; or on Thursday, August 16! See details about serving below in service area needs.
Tomorrow in the Men’s Group: The men will meet at Carlos Dimas’ home at 8:45am. For further details, please contact Mike Henry.
Newcomer Lunch – TOMORROW: For those new to Redeemer and the area, we invite you to our monthly newcomer lunch immediately following service. If interested in attending, please RSVP to Kelsey Gold or go to the Connection Table!
Constitution Town Hall- TOMORROW : Eric will host the second of two town halls to answer any questions regarding the proposed constitutional changes presented at the June 26 member meeting. The town hall will be immediately after the service and at the front right of the sanctuary. For those not participating, please be mindful and move to the back so that discussion can be more easily heard.

Redeemer Member Led Event
Tennis Tournament! Graym Kasko is organizing this year’s Redeemer Open, which will take place in August-September. ALL LEVELS ARE WELCOME TO PLAY. If you are interested in playing (or learning more), email email@example.com or reply to the post on the Redeemer’s Facebook page.
Redeemer Service Area Needs:
Audio Team: Still needing technically- and musically-minded and music folks to help out with the Audio and Recording teams. Previous experience is helpful, but not required. If you’re interested in learning more, please email Dave Mugg.
Children Ministry: The largest service team for Redeemer’s largest service area is still looking for members to serve for our 2018-2019 year (September – August)! We are excited to start in Genesis and looking for classroom volunteers (no experience required and teacher roles are filled!). If you love kiddos, like them, or are scared of them (and no longer want to be), then this your opportunity to serve! Let Jackie know if ready for the adventure!
Open and Close Team: Ever wonder when signs are put up and taken down? Curious who takes out the ravaged donut boxes? We’re looking for 1 or 2 volunteers to join our team of faithful servants who arrive early (10am) to set up our space to ensure it is ready and welcoming. Please email Ben Seck if you’re interested!
ESL Ministry Fall 2018: Tomorrow, we will hear more about the ESL ministry and the volunteer needs for the Fall 2018 semester. After hearing from the team, and interested in knowing more, they will host informational meetings on Monday, August 6 and Thursday, August 9. Meetings will take place in the church lobby from 7:30-8:30pm. Please RSVP here if you plan to attend the informational meeting. If you have any questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Servant Shoutout by Jackie Black: On the 109th day, after displacement from flooding, over five moves, 20+ volunteers on multiple occasions, tons of coffee, laughter, grace, and dose of self-control not to wail and weep – we are finally moved back FULLY into our CM space – which is exclusively ours (and I have the locks on doors to prove it!). Wow – How gracious and good God has been to Redeemer!
This past Thursday, people gathered for a quick move, mindful organization, and pizza party to close the door on our displacement and excited celebrate the soon start of our new CM year (September 2018 – August 2019). Shoutout to: Ben Adams, Jared and Kelly Altmans, John Allevato, Jens Bishop, Andrew and Becky Davis, Jeff and Katie Martin, Caleb and Shawna Quezada, Stephen and Rocio Rabil, Brandon and Ellen Tusing – and I am sure I am missing some folks 😮
Note: I asked myself if I was making a too big about this. However, when realizing we had been displaced from our space for almost a third of a year – I think it warrants a big deal for all of Redeemer! And personally, it has not fully sunk in yet that we can fully focus on 2018-2019 year…THANK YOU, Redeemer family for enduring, encouraging, and engaging in new and old normal process! Grateful for all of you!
