Redeemer Weekly: September 16, 2018 — September Elder Meet & Greet & Member Meeting — Servant Shoutout: Ian McBee

Good morning! Please join us tomorrow morning at 10am for coffee and donuts at 716 S. Glebe Rd! Reminder: Our main parking lot entrance is CLOSED. Please use the side and main Glebe entrances. Please have a patient and hospitalible spirit by being on the lookout for new attenders and assist them finding entrances or children’s ministry!  

Tomorrow in Children’s Ministry (CM): Redeemer kiddos continue to learn about the Beginning, Genesis 3: Adam and Eve broke God’s law, and their sin separated them from God. God promised a Rescuer would come from Eve’s family to rescue people from sin and bring us back to God.

NO Men’s Group! The men’s group is on break and resume on Sunday, September 30th after preparing, planning, and praying over the upcoming session!

Elder Meet & Greets: Jim Riordan was nominated for eldership on June 24. TOMORROW, immediately after service, Jim and elders will be available for members to meet and get to know Jim!

NOTE: The three books which Eric recommended last week were: Divided by Faith, One Blood, and When People are Big and God is Small

Worship and Prayer night! NEXT Thursday, September 20 at 7:30pm, come join us as we take a break from the week and gather to worship and pray for each other and the community.

Core Seminar: For those interested in pursuing membership with Redeemer, our final 2018 core seminar will be September 28-29. You can register here or get more information at the Connect Table – registration closes Thursday, September 20.

Redeemer Member Led Events

African Walk for Cancer: Bigz Bigirwa and African Walk for Cancer is currently on their  from Arlington VA, through Washington DC, Baltimore, Philly and finally end in New York City on September 28th. Volunteers, walkers and contributors are welcome. The dream is to build a world class cancer hospital (s) and help about 500,000 in sub-Saharan Africa with little or no treatment. ReWind Resumes! Ladies, Redeemer Women in Discipleship (ReWinD) returns for the fall semester THIS Monday, September 17 at 7pm! The fall and spring semesters will focus on the Old Testament: Joshua and Nehemiah (respectively). Cost for dinner and the fall Joshua studybook is $20 – but please do not let cost deter you! If you are new to Redeemer and want to connect with other women through God’s Word…and food…and talking…or if you have been at Redeemer since the beginning and are longing for deeper connections, there is a place for you in the ReWinD circle. You can register HERE for the upcoming semester.

Fall RUA Bible Study: 1 John – You’re invited to join other Redeemer women for RUA (Read, Understand, Act) starting on Thursday, Sept 27th, 7:30-8:30. Our fall semester will study 1 John over the course of five 1-hour meetings. RUA is designed to work for women in every stage of life, and at every stage of belief, with the goal of equipping women to understand Scripture by reading Scripture – without the help of commentaries, teachers, or any other external resource: just you, your Bible, and other women eager to understand Scripture with you. Servant Shoutout by Jackie Black: This past Monday night was the ESL registration night! Many shoutouts to all who came out – thank you!! Ian McBee was one of those servants! His support for registration night is the not the only way he serves but also on Sunday morning and Thursday evenings by serving on the worship team. Ian’s consistent and caring serving is greatly appreciated – thank you, Ian for loving Redeemer well!
