vision

Redeemer Church of Arlington is committed to reaching the city with the gospel through building a church that loves the gospel.

There are 4 words in this vision that are very important to us at Redeemer:

gospel, church, city, through.

gospel: The gospel of Jesus Christ is the historic, propositional, experiential, comprehensive story of God’s plan of redemption. Simply put the gospel is the good news about the birth, life, death, resurrection, and return of Jesus Christ the Son of God.

church: A local church is an identifiable community of God’s redeemed people. They are filled with God’s Spirit, submitted to God’s Son, and set apart for God’s service to each other. The local church participates in the fulfillment of God’s mission in a specific location under the direction of gifted, qualified pastors and elders who preach the gospel and administer baptism and communion until Jesus Christ returns and restores all things—all to God’s glory!

city: Our desire is to build a gospel community in the city. In other words we live in community in the place that God has called us to reach.

through: The word “through” is very important to us because we believe that community and mission are to be integrated in the life of the church. We believe that we reach the city through building the church, and we build the church through reaching the city.

At Redeemer we are committed to building an integrated model of church: we desire to integrate word, community, mission, and service in the normal daily life of discipleship.
