This Sunday

This Sunday – Oct. 2nd

What a privilege to gather together this Sunday! Eric is going to teach us from John 2 as we have the opportunity to look at Jesus’ first days in his ministry.

I’ll be leading our time of singing as we take time to reflect on God’s mercy towards us in Christ, which leads us to sing with great joy! During communion we’ll be singing the new song I referenced last week, In The Shadow of the Glorious Cross.

Let’s pray as a church that God would work mightily as we gather.

Song list:

Holy, Holy, Holy (hymn)
Rock of Ages (hymn)
Christ is Risen (matt maher)
The Saving One (starfield)

In the Shadow of the Glorious Cross (sojourn church)

This Sunday – Sept. 25th

This Sunday we’ll be studying John 1:19-51. I encourage you to read this section in John over the next couple days in preparation for our time together. One question I’m going to try and answer in my message is, “How does this passage change the way we view our relationship with Jesus?”

Duke Walker will be leading us in singing, focusing on our new identity in Christ. The second song we’ll be singing, In the Shadow of the Glorious Cross, is new for our church. It was written by members at Sojourn church in Louisville, Ky. You can listen to it here. Below are the lyrics.

In the shadow of the glorious cross
Compelled by grace to cast my lot
I’ll discard the loss and bare your name
Forsaking all for your own fame

Your hymn of grace sung over me
Abounding forth in glorious streams
My thirst is quenched by you my Lord
Sustained am I redeemed restored
Sustained am I redeemed restored

Hallelujah, Hallelujah

When death’s dark shadow’s at my feet
When I am plagued by unbelief
You place my hands into your side
By precious blood identified
By precious blood identified

Hallelujah, Hallelujah

These crowns I’ve clenched with fisted hands
I cast them down before the throne
Of Christ my God the worthy lamb
Christ crucified, the Great I AM
Christ crucified, the Great I AM

Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Can’t wait to worship with you all!

Song list:
Come Thou Fount (hymn)
In The Shadow of the Glorious Cross (sojourn church)
Always Forgiven (sovereign grace)
Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone) (chris tomlin)

How Deep the Father’s Love for Us (stuart townend)
Hail the Day (sovereign grace)

This Sunday – Sept. 18th

We are about to begin our study in the book of John as a church. In preparation, I encourage you to begin reading through the book and praying that God would meet us as we study his Word together.

The book of John was written so that “you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name” (John 20:31). Let us pray to that end. Specifically, pray that God’s Spirit would bring greater faith to our own hearts and bring revival to our city!

This Sunday we’ll be studying John 1:1-18 and taking time to sing about the incredible good news that God became man so that we might have a Savior. Looking forward to being with you all.

Song list:

All Creatures of Our God and King (Hymn)
You Alone Can Rescue (Matt Redman)
God Over All (Sovereign Grace)
In Christ Alone (Keith & Kristen Getty)

Here is Love (Hymn)
Great is Your Faithfulness (Matt Redman)
