For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given;
and the government shall be upon his shoulder,
and his name shall be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of his government and of peace
there will be no end,
on the throne of David and over his kingdom,
to establish it and to uphold it
with justice and with righteousness
from this time forth and forevermore.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.
Isaiah 9:6-7

Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!
Serve the Lord with gladness!
Come into his presence with singing!
Know that the Lord, he is God!
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
and his courts with praise!
Give thanks to him; bless his name!
For the Lord is good;
his steadfast love endures forever,
and his faithfulness to all generations.

Psalm 100

Holidays come and go, but God’s love endures forever.

Thanksgiving might have been a time of celebration and memories for you. Or it may have been a time of sadness and difficulty. Our experience of holidays are often dictated by the people who are either present or absent. A friend or relative that you haven’t seen all year. A loved one that is no longer with you. Thankfully, God never leaves us.

Join us this Sunday we gather as a church family to rehearse God’s unchanging provision, goodness, and presence. Come to be strengthened in this love as we look to him who truly satisfies and rejoice that we are his people.

After a message by Chris Hughes, director of OneU at the University of Maryland, Jon will lead us in an extended time of prayer and thanksgiving.

Oh, save your people and bless your heritage! Be their shepherd and carry them forever.”
Psalm 28:7-9
