This Sunday – February 5th, 2017

“Turn to the earth and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other.” Isaiah 45:22

God invites us to gather together to testify that he is God and there is no other.

In the turmoil and confusion of this day and age, our weekly gathering reminds us that God is in control, and he is working for his glory and for our good.

This Sunday we have the privilege of welcoming 13 individuals who want to commit to be members at Redeemer.

Also, for the next two weeks, Eric is going to preach on how we should think Biblically about the current events and environment that we live in. You’ll have the opportunity to text in questions which he will answer at the end of the sermon. Let’s pray that God would give us clarity where there is confusion and conviction where there is apathy.

See you Sunday!

Ascribe to the Lord, O heavenly beings,
ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name;
worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness.
The voice of the Lord is over the waters;
the God of glory thunders,
the Lord, over many waters.
The voice of the Lord is powerful;
the voice of the Lord is full of majesty.

Psalm 29:1-4

This Sunday we gather together to respond to God’s call to worship him.

He calls us to remember and reflect on his greatness and glory. He call us to rejoice in his mercy and grace. And he calls us to consider how we can offer our lives as ‘pleasing sacrifices’ to him.

Join us as sing, study God’s word, and take communion together. God invites you to experience and know him more!

“Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable. One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts.” Psalm 145:3-4

From generation to generation, we are to commend all that God has done. It’s our privilege and our responsibility.

This Sunday will be a bit different than other Sundays.

Typically, the kids in our church spent most if not all of their time downstairs in our Children’s Ministry, learning about Jesus from the incredible servants in our church that faithfully serve them.

This Sunday, we are going to bring them upstairs! The cast and crew that normally provide a skit for the kids to introduce new sections in their curriculum are going to do their skit and lesson in our main service with the kids present. After that I am going to give a shortened message on the importance of passing on the gospel to the next generation.

We want to highlight the work that is being done in Children’s Ministry, and invite us to collectively learn about and worship God, who is greatly to be praised.

See you there!

Order of service:

– Come Thou Fount
– Arise, My soul Arise

GFE Service Promo Final (1)

Jan. 24 Sunday Service Cancelled

Due to the amount of snow we are expected to receive, Redeemer’s Service tomorrow morning is canceled.

I encourage you to check in with your neighbors and Redeemer community and spend some time tomorrow thanking God for the true rest he has given us through Christ. Times like these are a unique opportunity to slow down in the midst of the busyness of life. You could read through the book of Acts, take time to pray, listen to some worship music, take a nap, play games, laugh with friends and family, make the most of this time!

Hope everyone stays safe and warm. See you all next Sunday!

Redeemer Weekly – 12/13/2015

HAPPY ADVENT SEASON: Today is the second Sunday. We’ll have coffee, donuts, Munchkins and fellowship waiting for you, beginning at 10 a.m. at Arlington United Methodist Church, 716 S. Glebe Road. The service begins at 10:30 — 19 days to Christmas!

DEC. 24: We are excited to have our first Redeemer Christmas Eve Service on Friday, December 24 at 6 pm. This hour service ha a theme of “Hope has Come”. For those who are local or have family coming into family, we hope you can join us and invite others with you.

SERVANT SHOUTOUT, by Jackie Black:  Once a month, children’s ministry has a unit kickoff to introduce the kids to the unit theme and songs. These Sundays are some of my favorite as all ages are engaged through song, skits, activities, and of course, coloring :)

A key to our successful kickoffs is the high energy and musical talents our youth unit kickoff band bring. These youths sacrifice their time of Sunday worship to teach and engage the CM kiddos in music and song. They patiently and enthusiastically teach the children songs. When your children are able to sing and dance around the house, that is because they saw the band do it first.  We are grateful for the example of serving they set for the younger children. Thank you, Unit Kickoff Band!

–Seeing a servant? Shout out! I know serving in happening; help me see who is doing it and please let me know at jackie@redeemerarlington.com.

FROM DALE BROWN and the other elders: We will take a few minutes in each Sunday service over the next three weeks to share highlights of ministries included in the new Strategic Opportunity Fund, launched in conjunction with the 2016 budget. We are asking Redeemer members to consider making a one-time gift in December, above your regular giving, to support these opportunities to extend our mission with projects such as: …

… Supporting the work of other church planters internationally and in the U.S. … Saving for our next church planting opportunity … Supporting OneU’s hiring of two new campus missionaries to start work at a campus in D.C. … Donating to Young Life South Arlington’s campership fund so teenagers can hear the Gospel at Young Life Camp. … Partnering financially with the Assistant Pregnancy Center. As giving exceeds our operating budget during the year, we will allocate those excess funds to these projects.

This Sunday – October 18th, 2015

“Oh sing to the Lord a new song,
for he has done marvelous things!
His right hand and his holy arm
have worked salvation for him.
The Lord has made known his salvation;
he has revealed his righteousness in the sight of the nations.
He has remembered his steadfast love and faithfulness
to the house of Israel.
All the ends of the earth have seen
the salvation of our God.”
Psalm 98:1-3

This Sunday we come to remember together that God has made known his salvation to us.

We sing, study his word, and take communion because we believe that Jesus really lived, and died, and rose from the dead. God’s salvation accomplished, our hope secured!

Let us come to encounter our God and Father, through Jesus Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Eric will continue our series in the book of Acts as we look again at Acts 2:42-47 and consider how we use our time. I will lead our times of singing.

I hope to see you there!

– Now Why This Fear
